Grading Information for Registration Purposes
Newbury Bulls Soccer Club is a graded club and all children from under 9s through to under 16s will be graded at the start of the year (no exceptions).
The Grading Policy and Process is designed to group players with similar abilities so as to maximise their enjoyment and opportunities to improve. Please note that although the club recommends specific grades when registering each team with BDSFA, we do not have the final decision regarding the level at which each team ultimately plays.
For season 2017, Grading will commence on the 13th February. PLEASE ARRIVE 30 minutes prior to GRADING
All players must wear shin pads, soccer boots and plenty of drinking water, as canteen facilities will not be available during grading sessions.
Payment needs to be complete before the end of the grading session.
All grading sessions are held at Connor Greasby Park, Perfection Ave, Stanhope Gardens (opp. John 23rd Church) which is our home ground on the dates advised (check above). Other venues may be used in the case of bad weather. You are advised to check the website & facebook page for any changes.
You need to attend ALL sessions for your age group. Players that do not attend grading are likely to be assigned in the first instance to the lowest grade team for that age group.
ALL Parents need to sign a grading waiver before their child starts grading. THE COMMITTEE & GRADING PANELS DECISION OF PLACEMENT IS FINAL
Players are graded individually on their performance during grading. Consideration will be taken when grading in a team situation.
U5 to U8s are graded in a team situation after teams are put together. A night will be allocated for each age group to come to the fields & play a game against other teams in their age group to determine the level that each team will be placed in a BDSFA perspective. They will not be classified as divisions, but Animal names will be given to each team to differentiate the different teams. (eg. U6 Whales, U7 Echindas, etc).
This year FFA has brought in the following decisions for referees:
- U5-7 will only have what will be known as Game Leaders which will be a parent, committee member or volunteer who has knowlege of the game & over the age of 13 years.
- U8-9 will have instructing referees which will also be a parent, committee member or volunteer who is over the age of 13 years.
Unfortunately, we cannot control this decision, so we hope that all involved in these age groups understand our position & help out wherever possible.
